This looks like one of those cases in which debt and equity interests are not aligned. Equity may not like slow growth with steady profits but average ROE. But that status quo is not bad for the debt. If anything, this spin-off now raises questions of what debt goes with the spin-off. I would have guessed there'd be widening rather than tightening.
