Toronto-based Overbond launches latest bond issuance platform
Toronto-based financial technology start-up Overbond has announced the launch of a new service to allow corporates to issue bonds directly to investors via its electronic platform
Interesting, I favor "digital progress" of this sort but I wonder who fills the investment banker role of due diligence and vetting of the bond issuer? In the U.S., SEC regs place a burden of diligence on the banker. That element seems absent here. (Or perhaps private deals don't have this formal burden for the banker anyway?)
